Do garden hoses come with water stop connectors?

 I bought this Pope garden hose from Bunnings  yesterday- I thought the brass reinforcement looked reassuring. However they’ve not put a water stop hose connector on the end! It’s just a standard connector. The water stop connectors stop water flow when you disconnect the hose attachment/sprinkler etc. Now because of the brass reinforcement I can’t take this part off and change it over to a water stop connector. I’ll have to use a double adapter to join the water stop connector to this one. Is this standard for hoses not to come with water stop connectors?

Thanks for sharing your question about your garden hose. If it has only been a few days and you still have the docket for your garden hose, I propose bringing it back to the store for an exchange. Not all hoses have the water stop feature you are after, and I totally agree it is a convenient feature to have when you are disconnecting or reconnecting your garden hose when it is on.

I recommend double checking the end of the hose connector to make sure it has the water stop feature when you grab your new hose.
