Hi, I’m looking at repainting/oiling the patio but I’m not sure what was previously used and what the colour is. Was it paint or stained oil? It’s like a brown with a slight dark burgundy/purple undertone. Thank you

Your deck has been painted, likely with a deck paint such as Cabot's Timbercolour.
Have a look at the Cabots Timbercolour Guide which shows the variety of colours it can be tinted to. It looks similar to Indian Red on page 11.
Alternatively, you could paint the deck with an external paint such as Dulux Weathershield or Taubmans All Weather. You might like to take a trip in-store to grab some colour cards to take home and compare with your deck.
Once you've selected a paint product, give your deck a good clean with Cabot's Deck Clean and a Deck Scrub Brush to get it ready for painting.
