How to attach batons to a brick wall?

I tried to texture coat the wall and it works but I will have to use too much product and it still won’t be 100%
So, I would like to know if my design is acceptable structurally and I don’t want to use wall anchors as it’s too labour intensive so what type of masonry screws can I use for the 35mm batons?
Also how far apart should the screws be to fix the batons to the wall which is not level vertically as per photo

Thank you for your question about installing Hardie Fine Texture cladding to your brick wall.

The primary document you should be looking at is the Hardie Fine Texture Cladding Installation Guide, particularly the section detailing cavity fix to brick wall applications. 

 

On page 3 you'll see table 3 which shows the required batten spacings, batten fastener spacings and sheet fastener spacings based on the wind classification in your area.  

Non-cyclonic zones are rated N1-N6 with differing principles governing which rating they are given. This wind classification design guide from our supplier Lysaght provides some more information.

If you are in an N1-N3 or C1 area, you will need to space the vertical timbers a maximum of 600mm apart, attach the timbers to the wall every 300mm and attach the sheets to the battens every 200mm with fibre cement nails or every 125mm with brad nails.

As mentioned in the Cavity Fix - Brick Wall section of the guide, you can use a Dewalt blue-tip masonry screws every 300mm along the batten with a minimum embedment of 40mm, meaning your screw will need to be at least 75mm long.

I'd suggest you have a good read through the installation guide as it provides all the details you need to ensure a quality install.
