I would like to paint the yellow tongue floor in our granny flat. It’s pretty low traffic bedroom . Any tips on which paint or primer to use ?

As it is not a typical application, there is not a specific system for this purpose. Australian Panels, the producers of YellowTongue have provided information here on how to paint YellowTongue when used as a wall lining, but not as flooring. I imagine a similar approach will work, but as it will be walked on, the wear will likely be increased.
I can recommend products and a method, but there is no guarantee that they will last as long as they would in their normal applications.
As YellowTongue is resin-enriched, you will have to buff up the surface to create a key for your primer and paint to stick to. Sand the surface with 120 Grit sandpaper to remove any dirt or contaminants and to buff the surface. Once sanded, vacuum the surface to remove all sawdust and particles from the surface.
Once prepared, apply a coat of Dulux 1L PRECISION White Maximum Strength Adhesion Primer to the entire surface and allow it to dry for an hour.
When your primer has dried for an hour, you can apply 2-3 coats of Feast Watson 4L Satin White Timber Floor Paint.

Hi @JacobZ, Hope you are well. I read your reply here. I also have the same question. But the new yellow tongue floor is located in a trafficable area. Do you know which spec is suitable? The colour would be Natural White.

As Jacob touched on above, YellowTongue flooring isn't designed to be used as a finished floor. While it can be painted, it wasn't manufactured with that application in mind, so the wear and tear from regular foot traffic could cause the coating to break down over time.
You'd be much better off installing a product such as hybrid vinyl flooring over the YellowTongue, as it's specifically designed to withstand trafficked areas and will provide a much more durable, long-lasting finish.
Because particleboard isn't commonly used as a finished floor, none of our paint manufacturers have a tested or recommended paint system for this application, nor can they guarantee its longevity. Jacob has outlined the best methodology we could suggest for painting it, and I don't have anything better to add. The Feast Watson Timber Floor Paint he recommended is designed for trafficked surfaces, but the unknown is how well it will continue to adhere to the resin-enriched YellowTongue over the long term.
