Can I use Dunlop Primer and Additive for plastic?

Shower floor is usually concrete, which is porous surface, while puddle flange is plastic, which is non-porous. I was wondering if Dunlop Primer and Additive can be used for both of them. Otherwise I have to buy different products for the shower base. I ask this question because I saw Bunnings' waterproofing video which seems only one product is used (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TmrFUgI1C58) . Dunlop's label shows the product is for porous surface.

The dunlop Primer used in that vidoe is designed to allow the water proof to readily stick to the concrete and other materials as its dust is bonded in and bound some what.

It will also bond to the plastic to allow the same water proofing process to bond better with the plastic fittings So the water proof layer wont peel of later,

So just follow the video as bunnings made it. 🙂

Puddle flange is ABS plastic. What about Polyurethane hobs like this one https://adheseal.com.au/products/polyurethane-hobs

I think those glues are basically formulated around those plastics so it is good at bonding to them and creates easy to bond to membrain surfaces on other materials as well.

The puddle flange is adhered and sealed to the concrete/compressed fibro. The Dunlop primer is painted around it and over the porous surfaces. The waterproofing is applied over the primer and up to and around the puddle flange. You then apply your screed over the area, if needed, and tile. There's no need to apply the primer or waterproofing over the puddle flange, only up to it.

For a polyurethane hob, it would be best to contact the manufacturer for more advice on what they recommend for preparation.

I've found more info online and share them here. I need non-porous primer such as WPA160 to coat the puddle flange.

Membrane to drainage connection

Membrane drainage connections in concrete floors must comply with one of the following:

A drainage flange must be installed with the waterproofing membrane terminated at or in the drainage flange to provide a waterproof connection (see Figure 10.2.29).
Where a preformed shower base is used, provision must be made to drain the tile bed and provide a waterproof connection to the drain.

So, if you'd like the membrane to run into the drainage flange, you'd need the appropriate primer, or as I've mentioned above, it can terminate at the flange instead. However, given the complexities of waterproofing, it's always best to consult with a professional to ensure the correct steps are taken.
