How to fix cornice cracks?

Hi everyone,

I am having an ongoing problem with the cornice cracking where the cornice meets the wall in an old Californian Bungalow.

The walls are all brick with render on top.….please see pics.

I have tried no more gaps which is flexible…also Unipro all purpose filler and recently I have filled with cornice cement.

Rhe no more gaps and all purpose filler have just cracked again in a short period.

The cornice cement I just tried so don’t know if it will last.

Can anyone please advise something that is more permanent??

The continued cracking creates a big mess from dust and dirt falling through from insurgents ceilings and it’s a total pain to keep opening up the gaps and refilling!!

Sorry to tell you this your house is moving some where, some how

That wall is pulling away from the roof I would be checking the floor supports stumps. Check the wall studs still sound.

Check into the roof if needs be.

This problem looks fixable just need to get to the problem before you have more expensive house repairs.

Unfortunately, I agree with @Jewelleryrescue that there is a bigger issue at play here.

Cracks of this size indicate movement, and their repetitive nature and appearance in multiple locations imply there is significant movement.

I'd suggest you contact an engineer or licenced builder for their assessment and recommendation on how to rectify the movement issue.
