How to fix leaking gutters?

We have leaky gutters and not sure best method to seal or is it more of a gutter problem needing replacement? Every gutter on the house around the downpipes are leaking and looks like screw holes around the pipes. I am not sure why they would be leaking like they are, the house is only a few years old. It is not obvious when looking inside the gutter what the issue is. What sort of seal is best or do we have all of this replaced around the down pipes. We are also on tank water and it’s a shame to waste all this precious water. We would love to DIY this but not sure if we need more of an expert to fix.

All I have is make sure the gutter and down pipes are clean and clear.

As you have water tanks some times there are sliding down pipe covers so the water is all redirected to the tank

In a heavy down pour they can over flow for a short time.

But honestly that water not spilling over the edge so ????

If I was there I might be able to see the problem, but your good self cant see it either.

Keep looking see what pops up failing all that a plumber or gutter specialist.

Love gutters that overflow... and yeah I am being cynical 🙂

I have had both holy gutters leak like a sieve and brand new ones want to overflow even after a few months of install. TYhey were full of leaves in such a short period of time. I am wondering from your photos if the gutters have leaves, the downpipes especially the dogleg bend is free of debris. I was also thinking do ytou have a first flush system installed? That could back up and cause the gutters to stay full potentially.

If you make sure the gutters are empty (via a ladder not climb on the roof) then you can use your hose and see if the gutters fill and run free. That way you are reducing your known issues.

The water is leaking from the joint between the downpipe dropper outlet and the gutter, likely because the outlet wasn’t sealed properly during installation. It’s possible that no sealant was applied, and the outlet was simply pushed into place. To fix this issue, you’ll need to remove the dropper outlet from both the downpipe and the gutter. Once removed, clean the area thoroughly to eliminate any dirt, debris, or old sealant, ensuring the new sealant will adhere properly. Apply a generous amount of high-quality gutter silicone around the base of the outlet where it connects to the gutter, creating a watertight seal. Reinsert the outlet into the gutter and reconnect it to the downpipe, ensuring everything is securely in place. This should resolve the leakage and prevent further water loss from your tank system.

Thanks Dave, there is nothing in the gutters and they are clean.

We will try CRC leak stop and see if that works, worth a go.
