How to stop Ozito cordless grass trimmer blades flying off?

I'm having loads of trouble with my Ozito grass trimmer, which is a few years old now. The plastic blades keep flying off and I often have to reach down and manually turn the disc they're attached to to get the whipper snipper to run. It's been super frustrating. Does anyone have a workaround for these problems?
Also wondering if there's a way of recycling the plastic blades?

Wow sounds like you had a good run with your whipper snipper they do wear out in the end.

Can you search for your whipper snipper manual on line and check the blade replacement issue?

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community @joshi. It's wonderful to have you join us, and many thanks for your question about an Ozito line trimmer.

If the plastic blades on your Ozito grass trimmer are new and still flying off without hitting anything, the issue may be due to wear on the retaining spigot on the head. If the spigot is no longer holding the blades securely, it might be time to replace the head. I recommend speaking with the Special Orders team at your local store to see if a replacement head is available for your model. Whilst you're there you can also ask if one of our Power Gardening experts can take a look at it for you to see if there are any obvious issues.

As for recycling the plastic blades, they can typically be placed in your council recycling bin. However, it's a good idea to check with your local council to confirm they accept this type of plastic in their recycling program.
