Have just moved into a property with the laundry in the hallway. I'm not sure how to connect my washing machine as there is no taps to turn on just a valve and a pipe??? Can someone pls advise 😔 i only need the cold water connected.

You tried that tap and water came out? Well thats the one.
That other pipe maybe a drain line given its a hallway cupboard wastewater has to go somewhere?

Is the issue that you can't find a tap or handle on the stopcock?
Are you able to feel anything on top of the stopcock?
Can you get a photo looking up at it?
It looks like you're pretty much there, but if you haven't had any success, please let me know so I can assist further.
