What paint to use on treated Pine garden edging?

Treated pine was put into the ground as garden edging above ground about 3 months ago. I would like to paint (not stain) it a colour close to the pine (so when it peels it won't be noticeable that much) as there's some black stuff on it from the decking I had installed, but I'm not sure which paint to use because it's also butted into the soil. I also have some bird poop to clean off it so I don't know whether I have to sand it or not after doing this. Can you please help?

Paints these days are very high tech and will cover treated pine and almost anything with out an under coat. (Some colour choices benifit from lighter or darker pre applied under coats. or just do 3 coats not two,)

Some paints like Dulux guaranteed not to peel, flake or blister for as long as you live in your home* Water clean up

Bird poop just a clean will do.

Use a brush roller or spray paint gun.:)

Below the dirt. Just move the top layer of dirt to paint the timber just below ground level for a nicer look mainly just brush the loose dirt off.

I agree with Jewelleryrescue's advice. If the treated pine is in good condition, you can definitely apply a high-quality exterior paint like Dulux Weathershield, which is designed for durability and weather resistance. The paint will adhere well to the treated pine, and you can achieve a natural look with a colour that blends with the wood. If you're concerned about the soil and dirt around the base, just move the top layer of dirt away to ensure the timber just below ground level gets a clean coat.

For cleaning off the bird poop, a simple wash should suffice. There's no need to sand the timber unless it's particularly rough. After cleaning, you can apply a few coats of paint for a good finish.
