How to remove paint for interior wall?

I have an unusual situation where the paint on the wall seems to be melting. I ended up to give it a sand today but it is still of melting texture and clogging up my sanding disc.

It seems like there is 3 layers to the paint.

Layer 1: the brown board

Layer 2: white paint

Layer 3: skin colour paint

Has anyone run into this melting paint issue before? I'm not sure how I can fix this now and looking for some recommendations on how to remove the paint and how to restore it back

Is that gyprock? it looks like it be Careful not to rub through the paper. or a plaster repair will be needed

A sanding disk will heat up faster than a orbital sander and possibly melt the acrylic paint into the disc pad and clog it ultra-fast,

Try jumping back to a regular orbital sander maybe be slower but, in the end, faster as the surface not scratched up as much.

That paint looks to be in pretty good condition so if it isn't bad no need to remove it just saying.

It was melted texture before I sanded it.

Just wanted to remove the bad bits so the new paint can stick on something solid.

Maybe a wire brush on a drill pin wheel will clog up less?

That’s definitely an unusual situation. It sounds like the paint may have been improperly applied, possibly leading to a chemical reaction or degradation over time.

Since sanding is clogging up your discs, I’d recommend trying a chemical paint stripper. This can often be more effective in dealing with layers of paint without causing further damage to the underlying surface. Just make sure to follow the manufacturer's instructions carefully, as some strippers can be harsh on certain materials.
