Countersunk Dynabolts would be the way to go @alex27.

The distance between brackets would be dependent on the amount of weight you wish to place on the shelf, the thickness of the shelf, and its ability to span distances. Say you were using a 19mm thick timber board and intended to put a medium amount of weight on the shelf, I'd space the brackets at least every 1000mm.

Something like the Ramset 6 x 75mm Countersunk DynaBolt Plus Masonry Anchors should be sufficient, @alex27.

Hi @alex27,

Just another tip along with @MitchellMc advice, is when marking both height and spacings for the brackets, that where possible the fixing holes are positioned over brick and not a course. And at least 20mm in from the brick edge is it doesn't crack/breakaway when drilling or fastening. Fastening to brick will always provide the maximum strength. And personally I wouldn't be concerned if the bracket spacings wasn't perfectly even to achieve this.

I am looking for some recommendations on how to use DynaBolts with hollow bricks with cavities. This is the photo of the actual brick I have and 75mm DynaBolts.

I guess the best option would be to drill holes near the brick edges. DynaBolts 1, 10, and maybe 9 should achieve the best result.

I assume that DynaBolts 2,4,6,8 won't work at all because they won't be able to expand inside cavities. Should I consider using longer (10mm) or shorter (5mm) DynaBolts for positions 2,4,6,8 ?

The bracket has 4 holes and spans 4 rows of bricks in my case, this would allow me to pick nearly perfect position on two rows of bricks, but I do not have a choice for the other two rows of bricks.

Do I really need to use four DynaBolts to fix each bracket just because the bracket has four holes, or two bolts should be enough?

They are a difficult best brick to mount to, that's for sure.

The only places that I can see being a viable option are 1 and 10.

If the shelves are going to be experiencing any kind of significant weight, then using an anchor in all four holes would be recommended, but you may be fine with just 2 as long as the weight is distributed across multiple brackets.

Is it possible to get a photo of the brackets against the brick wall to get an idea of where the holes in the bracket line up with the holes in the brick?
