How to use Dunlop multipurpose acrylic render on brick fence?

Hi, need some advice on using dunlop multipurpose acrylic render.  I am doing front yard brick fencing with some post, with using this dunlop multipurpose acrylic render, I have a few question below and hoping you can help me ?

1. is it normal after coating the wall in the morning and in the arvo , the surface looks powdery and a bit soft? 

2. Do i need to leave for 7 days after finish coating as a base coat? 

3. what is the next process or types of top coat finishes I can use after this? To make it harder?

Hi @Mickey03,

It's not unusual for the render to lighten in colour as it dries. This might present itself as a powdery look. 12 hours later, it wouldn't be unusual for the render to be still slightly soft as although it is touch dry, it hasn't fully cured to full hardness.

The render surface is touch dry in 2-4 hours @ 23ºC. A second coat may be applied after 6-8 hours, and the surface will reach full cure after 7 days. Before application of a decorative finish (i.e. paint) allow the render to cure for a minimum of 1 day for each 2mm thickness of the render.

After the product is fully cured, there should be no need for additional coatings to improve the hardness. After following the advice above, the surface can be painted with exterior paint to protect it from the elements.
