How to use Hortico 2L Hose On All Lawns Fertiliser?

Hi,

I just purchased the Hortico 2L Hose On All Lawns Fertiliser and not sure if I am missing a step.

I have connected my hose to the bottle and lifted the pastic flap to it is open. When I turn on the hose, it just seems that only water is spraying out and no fertiliser. Am I meant to add water to the bottle? It doesn't say so. Do I need to do anything else so it sprays fertiliser?

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community @kathy9. It's wonderful to have you join us, and many thanks for your question about using the Hortico fertiliser spray.

Starting with the most simple solution, I note you didn't mention turning the bottle on. So, the series of events should be as follows: shake the bottle well, connect your hose, lift the flap, turn your hose tap on, and then turn the switch on the bottle when you're ready to start distributing the mixer.

If you're already doing that let me know and we can troubleshoot further.

Sorry I did forget to mention. Yes I did turn it on.

I am starting to wonder whether when it is diluted with water is it clear? So possibily it is dispersing but I can't really notice because the water is still clear. I think i was expecting the water to be brown.

That is likely it, @kathy9. Only organic spray fertilisers such as PowerFeed are brown in colour. I would apply it over the designated area, and you should find that you go through the bottle.
