How to fix squeaky toilet button?

I can’t post a video however when I press down on the left side toilet button, it makes a squeaky noise/funny noise? Almost a creaky noise. Hard to describe. Left side/smaller button.

The button is still functional and works, toilet still flushes fine etc. just wondering if there is anything I can try to stop this noise? Super frustrating when flushing the toilet! I did spray canola oil spray (suggestion from my mum!) on the buttons but that hasn’t helped. I wondered if like WD40 or similar would help? It doesn’t get caught or isn’t hard to press. Just makes an annoying noise!

It's very likely that the plastic buttons are rubbing up against each other making that squeaky sound. Canola oil is an interesting solution, but I suggest spraying some soapy water into the area to remove the Canola oil residue inside the buttons. I propose using WD-40 300g Specialist High Performance White Lithium Grease to lubricate the side of the buttons. Should this fail to lessen or remove the squeaky noise it might be necessary to take the flushing button apart to address the point of friction happening inside its mechanism.

Give the spray a try and let me know if it works, but should it fail, I will try to guide you on how to take your flushing buttons apart.

Would RP7 do the trick? I have some of that on hand? Spray it all over the buttons, try to get as much in there as possible?

RP7 is a moisture displacement spray and lubricant in one. It might provide a temporary respite from the noise, but it's better to use a lubricant so that the parts will not rub up against each other. However, you are more than welcome to give it a try and see if stops the squeak.
