What protective edging for metal roof?

I have a little roof over my pool pump that has sharp and rusty metal right at head height, and I'd like to put some kind of protection over it. Due to the shape of I'm not sure what would work. So far my best idea has been to drill something onto the metal frame.

Does anyone else have ideas?

Hi @ALimestoneWall,

My first thought was to use some K-Flex Elastomeric Pipe Insulation to protect the edge. Make a slice down the length of the insulation and slip it over the edge of the awning. You could then use some 50mm Roofing Tek Screws down through the foam, through the top of the ridge in the roofing material and into the frame. You would need to confirm this screw length will work, but this should allow the water to flow down the valleys of the roofing into the foam.

You can then stick the bottom edge of the foam to the frame with Clear Roof & Gutter Silicone. This will also seal the foam and stop water flowing back out of the foam.

You would then need to drill some holes in the foam to allow water to escape.

This would be a relatively simple solution to the issue that is soft and would protect your head from the metal.
