How to repair holes in tiles and colour match putty?

I have removed multiple old metal bathroom fixtures from the tiles in my bathroom, and have multiple holes from where the screws were (some of the holes are quite large and they made a mess of the original drilling). I’ve read that Selleys 50g Knead It Aqua Epoxy Putty is the best way to fill these holes, is this sufficient for areas that are frequently wet, for example, where a soap dish was removed near the shower head? And once the putty is dry does it need to be sealed in some way?

 

The tiles in question are a sandy-beige colour with a non-gloss surface. What is the best way to match the tile colour, do you paint over the putty once it’s dry and sanded? Or do you colour the putty itself?

Thanks for sharing your question about patching the holes in your tile. You are correct the best way to patch these holes is to use Selleys 50g Knead It Aqua Epoxy Putty. The putty itself can't be tinted to a different colour, but it can be painted once it cures. My best suggestion is to place the putty over the hole and feather the sides so that it blends in with the tile. Once it cures it can be sanded down if the profile of the patch is too high. When you've sanded it to the correct level you can then paint the surface to the same colour as your tile. Please note that the paint is a temporary fix and will need to be reapplied when it starts to fade.
