How to fix chips on kitchen cupboard wall?

Hello,

Have these scratches/chips on kitchen cupboard wall. Occurred because the door of the kitchen cabinet was jambing and then when opening made a mark/scratch on the wall next to it. Can you please advise on how best to improve/fix this? Will those wax crayons help - Waxstix Timbermate Touch up wax crayon and if so what colour would you advise?

Thank you for your question.

It looks like the front edge of the door has picked up some colour from the wall while rubbing against it.

Is it possible to get some photos from different angles?

I can't say I'm 100% certain of the context of what I'm looking at.

You might be able to use some White Iron-on Melamine Edge to cover the edge of the chipboard.

You could also paint this edge with white enamel paint.

Either of these options would offer protection for the cupboard, but I'm not sure which would be better in this context.

Apologies, but I'm still not understanding what has hit the edge.

Can we get a photo from further back showing more context?

Are there more cabinets elsewhere that would open into it? Is it still possible for the cabinet door to hit it?

Is the ledge made of plasterboard or melamine-coated chipboard?

The solution is still likely to paint it or attach iron-on melamine edging, but some more context would help us understand what the better solution would be.

Hi Jacob,

The kitchen cupboard doors hit the ledge when they opened.

The cupboard doors jamb a bit and that is why they made a mark on the ledge.

Think it's made of plasterboard but will check.

Those are the only marks that are next to those kitchen cupboard doors.

Hi @gardenia8888,

If it is plasterboard, you may be able to use a PVC Casing Bead Plaster Trim to protect the edge from any further contact. It can be painted, but it is also white, so it might look fine without any paint.
