How to paint a single tile and soap shelf in shower?

I'm currently refreshing my shower (cheaply, until I can afford a professional reno) but I'm left with a grotty old shell soap dish.

Like this, but 30 years of soap exposure and abrasive scrubbing.
I am hesitant to remove it as I don't want to damage any waterproofing (and making it a much more expensive project), and I'm going for an eclectic vibe so I can live with the shape.
I'd like to know if I could use an enamel spray paint? I do have some left over White Knight ReNew Tile and Laminate Primer from a previous project if that would help.

Your leftover White Knight ReNew Tile and Laminate Primer will definitely help the paint adhere to the soap dish. The most important step is making sure the surface is completely free from soap scum—give it a thorough clean and a light sand to etch the glossy surface before priming.

However, you’ll need to follow up with White Knight ReNew Tile and Laminate Paint over the primer for a durable finish. Do you have any of that left from your previous project?

Unfortunately the left over paint isn't the colour I'd like, and I'd really like to avoid buying a whole new tin for just one tiny project! Was hoping for a cheaper solution. Is the tile paint available in sample size?

We have the Rust-Oleum 13.3ml White Tub And Tile Touch Up Kit @GraveR. You might need two kits to paint the soap dish.
