How to secure plasterboard to already tiled area with no overhang?

We had to have some plumbing moved in our laundry area. The plasterboard was cut out right down to the existing tiling preventing the usual way of joining plasterboard together.

What is the best way to secure the bottom part of the plasterboard to the tiling below? Will this allow the wall to be secure enough?

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's sensational to have you join us, and thanks for sharing your question about securing your plasterboard.

If you are putting a patch over a large area that does not support the edges of your plasterboard, I suggest putting in some timber support in the corners and at the sides to reinforce its connection to the wall. I can see from the picture you posted that only one of the studs is available, please make sure to screw the plasterboard onto that stud for support as well.
