How to renovate a second-floor bathroom?

Hi, my bathroom is leaking and I want to renovate it. Since it is on the second floor. I am so worry about waterproofing. What's the best material for the walls, floors especially shower room floors? 

Which is better for shower room floor shower tray or screeding?
