What colour tint for matching the Sienna MicroPro sleeper colour?

Hi Bunnings team,

I’ve been busy using the Sienna MicroPro sleepers to build up some raised garden beds, and I’ll be adding some treated pine (35mm x 140mm H3) capping to run along the top of it. I’d like to stain this capping, do you have a recommendation as to what colour tint would be best to match the Sienna Sleepers?

A warm welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community and thank you for your question.

Matching timber stains can be quite tricky due to the variability in colouring between different timber, so it is unlikely you will get a perfect match in colour. If you wanted it to perfectly match, you would be better off using the same sleepers as a capping timber. 

If this is not an option, as Sienna Micropro Sleepers are very red in colour, I'd suggest using a red stain such as this Cabot's New Jarrah Deck And Exterior Oil Based Timber Stain.

As it can be very difficult to perfectly match stained timber, I'd suggest applying the stain to a test section to see how close in colour it is before committing to the full job.
