How to add trim for the edges of the tiles?

Hi team, I’m looking to tile the splashback all the way to the cornice in the kitchen but was informed by the builder that the trim edging won’t work cos the wall is 90 degrees on the old splashback area but it’s 45 degrees at the corner as we move higher up the wall. I was hoping that the trim can just cover the sides of the splashback tiles in terms of width so it doesn’t matter whether it’s 90 or 45 degrees. Any solution around this?

We prefer to have a feature wall on one side of the kitchen rather than halfway on the wall which was the original design.

Would it be possible for you to post a picture of the 45degree area the builder was referring to. I'm just trying to imagine how the tiles will be running along that section of the wall. There is the QEP 8mm x 2.5m White Afterfit Tile Trim but you'll need to check if the angle is narrow/shallow enough for the trim to fit in. As soon as we see the photo of the area, we'll be able to give you a recommendation on how to proceed.

Hi @EricL , it’s the last photo. It may not be very clear. When I’m at my place, hopefully I can take a clearer photo. It’s not exactly 45 degrees (come to think about it), sorry. It’s not 90 degrees either, slightly wider than 90 degrees so maybe like 110 degrees.

Hi @renie,

Typically, you wouldn't tile right to the edge; you would finish slightly short of it and install a QEP 10mm x 2.5m White Tiling Trim, which finishes at the corner. If I understand correctly, it shouldn't matter what degree the wall running perpendicular to the tiled wall is, as you won't be running over onto that space.
