How to fix retaining wall drainage?

Hello, I’m currently having my new home finished off and I’ve run into an issue with my rear retaining wall.

The guy that did my rear retaining wall left the drainage pipe running into my next door neighbours back yard, which I’m told is not allowed. I’m wondering how I can rectify this as the footings have been poured below the wall now and there is only a small gap between the retaining wall and right side fence.

It sounds like you’ll need to find a way to redirect the drainage pipe into your own yard for a proper stormwater connection. One option is to dig a pathway under the foundation to bring the pipe through, though this could be challenging depending on how deep the footings are. Another approach could be cutting away a small section of the concrete to allow the pipe to pass through past the fence line. If space is tight, you might consider using a rectangular PVC downpipe in the narrow section instead of a standard circular drainage pipe, then converting it back after clearing the fence. 

It could be worth consulting a drainage specialist to ensure the solution complies with local regulations; you'll also need them to make the connection to your stormwater line.
