How to lay synthetic grass?

hi guys,

I have recently had turf layed here but doesn’t suit what I want for some reason and can’t keep it well maintained I was thinking of getting synthetic grass instead may someone please ask me what the first steps and process for this isn’t working well I am wondering-synthetic grass here will be better for myself and family for little play area for my kids 

may someone please help me with some advise and what I will need

Thank you for your question.

The process is fairly simple, and with a fairly flat and square area, there is not much to it.

The first thing you'll want to do is remove the top layer of soil, so you have around 50-100mm of height to add a compacted base. This will also remove the remaining grass. This can be done with a mattock to break up the soil and a shovel to lift and remove it.

You can then follow the instructions in How To Prepare And Lay a Base For Pavers to prepare your compacted base. You'll need either a tamper or a plate compactor to get your base material nice and compact. Plate compactors are available through the Hire Shop, just call ahead to check availability.

Once your compacted base is down and suitably compacted, use How To Lay Synthetic Turf as a guide for installing your synthetic turf.
