Hi DIY folks. I'm out of my element here.
The spout for my bathtub has loosened itself to the point that when I turn the taps on to fill the bath, the spout ejects itself from the base and water shoots into the air. Fun.
So far I've tried:
- Replacing the o-rings. It seemed to sit tighter in the base but it still wasn't tight enough.
- Buying a packet of multi-sized grub screws for that tiny hole in the side of the base. None of them fit and there was no grub screw in there before. I'm not sure whether a grub screw is required because the hole doesn't extend all the way through the base housing.
Is this something that can be repaired or do I need to replace the spout and base for the spout? If so, what's the easiest way to do so?
