How to refresh my laundry unit?

Hi there!

I am looking ti give my old laundry unit some much needed love. I want to remove the rust and paint the laundry unit something nice that will modernise the space. I also think I might add new knobs to the cupboard and potentially new taps? Any tips on addressing the rust and the right metal paint would be grea!

We spend so much time in the laundry its definently worth making it nicer!

To remove the rust and flaky paint you will need a wire brush and some sandpaper most probarly. As long as the metal under the rust is solid tehn you can bring it back. Once you have removed the surface rust  and flaky paint you will need to paint any parts that you have worked on with a rust convereter. Dy-Mark 350g MetalPro Rust Converter I have used one similar to this when removing rust from some old chair frames.

Once the rust has gone and converted then you can paint the metal base something that will match your walls and tiles. Id also do the same process for inside the cabinet. 

I can see some paint pots and maybe some tile paint on the floor, do you have an idea of what colours you want?

Taps, replacing them will certainly give a new look to the laundry, maybe even a cut uot half timber top that sits in the inner lip of the tubs. so you have an extra bench that can be removed if needed? 

The door handles, there are a heap to choose from but would hold off to matcgh with teh taps and other things you may change. That door looks like its hanging a little askew on the right so it may need some adjusting?
