How to replace water damaged timber door frame?

hi guys 

so like 10 years ago shower used to leak and i fixed it and all shower been installed new with new tiles and new shower screen 

but the timber from 10 years till now still the same like that do i fix it or no ? 

do we have to cut all bottom like 5 cm and put all timber new or i have to replace the whole frame 

do i have to paint it all varnish where the blackness or i have to spray something ?

Thank you for your question.

It certainly doesn't look the best, but it doesn't appear rotten to me.

If you poke at the base of the timber, does it feel soft?

If it is soft, then you will have to cut out the rotten section. You can then either replace the cut out section with timber, or use builder's bog to fill the removed section and then paint the door frame.

If the timber is still solid, with no signs of rot, then you can just sand the frame to remove the tired, weathered-looking surface and then refinish the timber. This could be done with varnish or paint, depending on your preference.
