How should I patch small hole?

Hi team. I’ve recently had our square bathroom fan replaced but because of a pole in our roof space we needed to use a smaller fan which was circular. As a result we’ve got this gap in the plaster that was the cut out from the previous fan.

How do I patch this? I was looking at the Hyde plaster repair patches but I’m not sure if this would work for this situation?

I’m an extreme newcomer to DIY so it needs to be doable for a newbie haha. Thanks!

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's sensational to have you join us, and thanks for sharing your question about patching a hole in your ceiling.

Since you're only trying to cover a small corner of your ceiling, I suggest using Hyde 127 x 381mm Wet And Set Plaster Repair Patch or Pfeiffer 15cm Plaster Repair Wall Patch. I propose removing the cover of your exhaust fan so that you have better access to the corner. Cut a rectangular piece of the repair patch and place it over the exposed corner. Because it is on your ceiling it will be necessary for you to hold the patch in place with your hands for a few minutes. You can also use push pins to hold the patch in place. Once the patch cures you can then follow the rest of the patching instructions printed on the packet.
