How to fix Ozito batteries that will not charge?

I have two faulty ozito batteries - 4.0AH 18 volt and a 2AH 18 volt- will not charge - red and green lights flashing. Have done all recommended actions still persist. Neighbours battery charges on charger. Therefore batteries a problem not charger. Any suggestions?

If the batteries are still under warranty, I would suggest returning them to your nearest store with any associated tools and chargers purchased with them as a kit. Remember to bring your proof of purchase. If the batteries are under warranty, the team should be able to swap them for you. In some cases, they'll also swap the tool and charger over.

If they are outside of warranty and you can let me know their model number or the tools they were purchased with then I can check with Ozito to see if replacements can be ordered.

Hi Mitchell, I just read your response in regards to the batteries and I have the same issue. They are not under warranty but 3 out of 5 of my batteries are not charging. They were purchased with ozito circular saw and ozito sander and ozito drill

If they are no longer under warranty and are not charging, the only option might be to replace them. Batteries do have a lifespan, so depending on how old they are, the cells in them might have failed. We have a variety of Ozito batteries available in-store. They should be a direct replacement if your batteries are from the PXC range. This Ozito PXC 18V 4.0Ah Battery Multi Pack is a particularly good deal.

If they are older batteries from before the PXC range, and you can supply their model numbers and the model numbers of the tools you purchased them with, I can contact Ozito after the weekend to see if replacements are available to order.

My situation is similar to Carley B.

In 2019 I purchased an OZITO HAMMER DRILL PX-HDS180 which came with 2 x PXCBP-300 batteries.

Despite very light work for this drill (basically my caravan standby).... one battery has ceased to hold barely any charge.... despite charging and lights behaving normally [charging time tho' is way too quick].

What are my options please?

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community, it is fantastic to have you with us.

As Mitchell mentioned, unfortunately, batteries do have a lifespan, and it sounds likely that over time, the cells have lost their ability to hold a charge. Even when not in use, these batteries slowly break down. Chemicals inside the battery react with each other, and this natural aging process gradually reduces how much charge the battery can hold. This happens no matter how often the battery is used. It’s a bit like food going stale even if you haven’t opened the packet.

Unfortunately, due to the age of the batteries, they would not be covered by a warranty, so you would need to purchase some replacement batteries.

Luckily, your drill is compatible with the current range of Ozito PXC Batteries. There are some good, cost-effective options, such as this Ozito PXC 18V 2.5Ah Battery and Charger, which would be fine for light use with your drill. If you're looking for something with a bit more runtime, consider this Ozito PXC 18V 4.0Ah Lithium-Ion Battery.
