How to replace rotten floor of cubby house?

Hi,

Moved into a house with cubby house that didn't have a roof ridge and rotted flooring that needs to be completely replaced (photos attached). What's the best reasonably priced material that I can use to replace the flooring? The area is about 180x180cm. I would probably need to add some additional floor joists underneath and also a new roof ridge cap. And will also need some sort of metal overhangs to protect the timber battens on the sides from rain. I would also appreciate recommendations on some tools that I can use to do the job done as I am relatively new to this level of job, but mentally prepared for the challenge :). Thanks in advance.

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community @ggbhaichi. It's terrific to have you join us, and many thanks for your question about installing flooringin a cubby.

It appears that they used yellow tongue structural flooring, which will last a decent amount of time if it is protected from the elements. It is also important to paint both sides and edges before installing. Alternatively, for a product that is designed to be exposed to elements and that will last longer, I'd recommend using treated pine, merbau or composite decking for the inside. 

You can use this Fielders 390mm x 2.4m Zinc Roll Top Ridge for the top and these angle flashings for the overhangs.

Whether you choose to go with structural flooring or decking, you should only need a circular saw and a drill driver for installation.
