How to fix water-damaged bathroom ceiling?

I need some advice from you guys.

I've got molded bathroom ceiling. 
How can I fix and paint or wall paper it properly?

Roof has no problems with fixing and repainting a couple years ago.
But there is a air outlet above this bathroom, and it seemed that the water came in during the cyclone (extreme rain and wind).
It is dry usually with normal rain.

Thank you for your question.

You should start by ensuring the issue that allowed water in is handled, otherwise anything we do will be damaged the next time there is a heavy downpour. For this, I would suggest contacting a leak specialist for their assistance and recommendations.

When the water entry is dealt with, you'll have to assess whether the plasterboard has been damaged beyond repair.

Does it feel soft and crumbly around the exhaust fan? Or does it feel fairly strong, and the paint has just peeled?

If the plasterboard is damaged beyond repair, then you will have to cut it out, attach new plasterboard, plaster the joins and cut a new hole for the exhaust fan. Hopefully, this is not the case, but if so, please let me know so I can assist further.

Ideally, the plasterboard is not too damaged, and you are just experiencing cracked paint and some mould, in which case, you should start by using a paint scraper to scrape back the flaking paint.

Once the paint has been removed, treat the mould using Flood 750ml Mould Action Pre-Paint Treatment, following the instructions on the label closely.

You can then apply a primer followed by ceiling paint to blend everything in with the surrounding ceiling.
