How to fix Mondella Resonance mixer flow issue?

hi, I purchased the Mandela resonance mixer. I noticed hot water isn’t coming through properly and on reading the instructions it says my not be compatible with instantaneous gas.

I thought I would check the aerator for fragments as a last ditch effort but can’t get it off. There wasn’t a key included which most have. Any ideas? Thanks!

Thanks for sharing your question about your Mondella Resonance mixer. I suspect that the aerator is machine fitted and will be very difficult to remove, as you'll notice that it has almost a seamless connection with the spout. If you happen to have an Appetito Silicone Jar Opener Red or similar, this might allow you to get a grip on the end of the spout and will allow you to twist off the aerator. Other methods such as using a multi grip tool will damage the spout end ruin its finish.

If you still can't get any hot water coming out of the tap, I suggest putting it back into the box and bringing it to the store for an exchange. Please remember to bring your docket with you so that they can process the exchange.

Thanks for the quick reply Eric.

i managed to get an adjusting pliers and a towel and that unscrewed the end off nicely. There was a little stuff on the aerator I cleaned off. Not sure if it was that or just putting it together again but hot water seems to be running now.

will keep an eye on it over the next few days.

I'm having this problem now, after a 1 year and a half. I found this thread. Hot water takes a while to arrive and flow isn't great, even with cold water. Taps around the house, even upstairs are fine. Just the kitchen. I have the Mondella Resonance, with the switch for flow and sprinkler.

I propose removing the switching head and doing a reverse flow on it with a garden hose to flush out any debris that may be blocking it. Before you re-attach the head, I suggest turning the tap on first to flush out any debris that might have settled in the hose. Test out the hot water, turn off the tap and then re-connect the switching head. If the hot water is still slow coming to the tapware there may be a blockage somewhere along the pipework in your tapware. If after doing a thorough investigation and you can't locate the blockage, I recommend engaging the services of a plumber to sort out the hot water issue.

You are correct, this unit can't be disassembled. This is why I suggested doing a reverse flow with your garden hose outside the house to push the debris trapped inside the head. Should you wish to change the head, I propose looking at the Kinetic WELS 5 Star 6L/min Chrome Universal Pull Down Spray Head or the Kinetic WELS 5 Star 6L/min Chrome Bell Style Pull Down Spray Head as possible alternatives.

Oh wow, didn't know I could purchase a replacement. Thank you. The original post mentioned that is may not be capable with instantaneous gas, would that be the unit as a whole or the head?

That is correct, some tap units as a whole don't work with instantaneous gas, perhaps it has something to do with the way the ceramic cartridge was designed or the flow of water inside the unit (difficult to tell). But the good news is that the head can be replaced if you are not happy with its spray pattern.
