How to remove white patches from aggregate driveway?

Hi everyone,

As shown in the attached photo, white patches have appeared on the driveway due to an acid wash used to remove dust. I attempted to remove them with a pressure washer, but it didn’t work.

This is an exposed aggregate driveway, and I’d prefer not to repaint it, as I want to keep the visible white stones.

If anyone has dealt with a similar issue, I’d appreciate any advice on the best way to fix it.

Hi @Vismay,

It's a bit hard to tell what has caused the white marks on the surface. There was potentially a sealant on the driveway to protect the surface. Sealers often darken the substrate. When acid washing, you've perhaps stripped the sealant off and back down to the surface. So, instead of these being white discolouration marks, I suspect they are the lighter unsealed surface beneath. If that is the case, you'd be looking at re-sealing the area to return it to the original look.

You might like to contact the company that produced the acid wash to ask them, as they would be the best source of information for their product. If you purchased an acid wash through us, I'd be happy to do that for you if you can identify the product used.
