How do I raise the height of a lift bed?

Hi there,

So I have this lift bed but the space underneath isn't high enough to be functional and the bed is quite low. I've propped it up under the four corners with some 100 x 100 post cutoffs and this is much better. How can I make a sturdy base, connect the corners so it is like a trellis or valance, stopping the cat from going underneath. I'd like to paint it black and it will likely need a support piece in the middle of the bed also. Open to thoughts and suggestions. Kinda novice on experience but have a few tools to get the job done.

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community @Patrick50. It's wonderful to have you join us, and many thanks for your question about raising a bed.

You could use 90 x 45mm timber to create a frame that both acts to raise the bed and enclose the area beneath. It should be a relatively simple construction. If you want to get fancy, I would drill holes in the top of the frame to recess the current feet within it. That way, the bed should not shift on the base. If this isn't possible, you could remove the feet and have it sitting directly on top of the base. Some brackets between the base and bed will prevent it from shifting.
