How to stop leaves coming through gaps in pool fence?

Looking for any ideas to stop leaves coming through the gaps in my glass pool fence! Ideally something transparent so it’s not obvious.

My undercover pool is situated lower than my driveway (that has planters along it) so leaves and dust blow off the driveway in between the gaps of the glass pool fence. Was thinking some sort of discrete mesh to help catch the large debris. Currently there are clear cafe blinds however these have yellowed and don’t look great so aren’t an ideal solution (also doesn’t let any airflow through). Hopeful there are some (good looking) ideas I haven’t yet thought of!

I propose visiting your local store and looking at the following materials:

Suntuf 1800 x 1000 x 3mm Clear Palclear PVC Sheet (not recommended for full sun exposure)
Tunnelcore 2250 x 1220 x 8mm UV White Translucent Double Wall PP Flute Board
Sunlite 8 1.2 x 0.61m Clear Twinwall Polycarbonate Sheet - 1200mm
Suntuf 3.0m Clear Polycarbonate Barge Cap

These are the most likely candidates you can use to cover the gaps under and beside your glass pool fencing. They can be cut and trimmed to size, plus they can be fixed in place using standard fixings such as screws. My idea is to create a timber slot holder on each post where you can slide the panels in place and prevent the leaves from getting through. My only other suggestion is to create a leaf catcher system further along the driveway so that they don't end up on your pool fence.

Leaves in pool.... my life lol I have several trees over my pool and in particular a large Ghostgum 🙂 Love the shade but I can scoop a half nets worth of leaves out on a light day.

One thing to note, and yes I also have allowed my lawn height to increase and will be checking its height against the pool fence this afternoon. Id be cautious with the location of the leaves in that garden bed and the height they may get to as you add more leaves over time.

Looking at the type of leaves you have there and the tall vertical gaps in the fence I would be thinking to remove the leaves and composting them down and then returning them back to the garden bed. This would stop leaves coming in underneath the glass fence. I first thought of the same type screen that you have mentioned at the base to "filter" the leaves but then realised you have long openings between panels.

Maybe for the summer months have a shade cloth screen half way down the opening attached to a a piece of timber the same width as the shade cloth. This way you can roll it up and tie it at the top during winter and then in summer/Autumn you can roll it down. I am thinking half way to the top of the glass fence so as to let light through but block leaves.

Thanks mate. Yeah prevention would be ideal to stop so many leaves building up however we have massive trees running the full length of our house so its a battle I'll never win. Will keep looking into ways to try and minimise how much reaches the gaps in the first place.

Yeah I really understand the leaves 🙂 I think of it as my "sand garden" relax time, when I rake up all the leaves. I havnt figured out how to lesson the amount but there is no wayid remove the shade they bring 🙂

Something to note as I didnt know of it at first. Leaf mulch from Gum trees apparently lakes certain minerals to make good compost/mulch. Other things need to be added to ballance it out.
