Is this shower wall ready to be waterproofed?

We're currently in the middle of a bathroom renovation which includes building a false wall as a shower shelf. The false wall edge joint looks good at the bottom (sides are butted together), but the gap between the sides widens towards the top.

The builder suggested it was fine to be waterproofed as it is, then will be tiled. 

Is this going to be an issue for the waterproofer or tiler?

Thank you for your question.

I've spoken with the technical team at Cromellins, who are our main supplier for waterproofing membranes.

They've confirmed that as long as the fibre cement sheeting is installed correctly so that there is no movement, then the external corner will simply have a waterproofing membrane applied over the join, Bond Breaking Tape wrapped around the corner while the membrane is still wet and then more membrane painted over the top.

The wall will need a clean to remove the dirt and dust, but it looks good enough to hand over to the waterproofer as it is. The waterproofer may just run a bead of Polyurethane Sealant up the seam to make things a bit more even.
