How to choose a door seal?

Dear folks

My main house entry has a timber door as per attached photos and I am looking to install a door seal I have got confused with the verity options at Bunnings

I don't mind to buy a premium quality one if there is such an option,,,,and I guess I need to install on the internal face of the door

It’s completely understandable to feel a bit confused with all the door seal options available—there really are quite a few to choose from. When it comes to sealing a main timber entry door, it's generally best to install the seal on the exterior side of the door. This helps prevent moisture from affecting the bottom edge, which is especially important if your door is already starting to show signs of deterioration. Installing a seal on the outside also offers better protection against wind, rain, and debris.

If you're looking for a premium-quality option, I’d suggest considering an aluminium threshold seal with a rubber insert. These are built to last and provide excellent weather resistance. I'd go with an automatic drop seal. These fit into the base of the door and drop down when the door is closed, providing a reliable seal without being visible when the door is open. For your situation, I'd recommend the Raven RP3 Door Bottom Clear 920mm, which can be cut down to suit your door width and will provide and excellent seal.
