How to clean pavers with unknown stains?

Hi again,

Your suggestion of using the liquid nails to lay pavers on top of the other worked perfectly. See attached. Although some of the pavers I bought from bunning shave a white stain on them. See attached. what's the best product and method of cleaning this off?

I’m glad to hear the liquid nails worked for your paver installation. Regarding the white stains on the pavers, could you let me know if they came with the stains, or if they appeared after installation?

To start, I’d recommend trying the mildest approach first. Mix some warm water with a small amount of dishwashing detergent, and use a soft-bristled scrubbing brush to gently clean the surface. If it’s just a surface coating, this method should help remove the stains and restore the pavers' appearance. However, if the stains persist, we may need to consider a slightly more aggressive cleaning method before sealing the pavers.

Hi again,

Thanks for the prompt response again. the actually came with the stains on there as they were the last ones there so took them. I tried the Karcher machine with high pressure and it didn't work. Next step please 🙏🏻

Hi @SamuelBiz,

This appears to be efflorescence staining, which is a build-up of salts. That's why the pavers should be sealed to prevent this issue in the future. There's no effective way of removing the staining. You could try a product like Crommelin 4L Efflorescence Remover, but it's quite a powerful chemical, which could also damage the pavers.

I would suggest taking these images and speaking with a manager at the store of purchase. I trust they'll try their best to help resolve the situation. At this stage, I do apologise, but I would think replacement is the only remedy.
