How to convert living room to a bedroom?

Hello everyone, I am thinking to renovate my living room to a bedroom for my kids by building a partition wall.
I purchased 2x interior bifold door from FB marketplace, planning to use them for the future bedroom.

I have a couple question about the placement:

- what would be the best way to build the wall that will accomodate the bifold door, diagonal (red dotted lines) or 2 walls (yellow dotted lines)

- where should I put, if I like to build a wardrobe?

Thank you for your question.

As long as the bifold doors fit width wise, then either of the options you have marked down should work; it would just depend on your preference.

However, considering you want to add a wardrobe, the yellow option may be better as it gives you a logical space against a wall that I assume has no windows for your wardrobe.

hi Jacob - thank you so much for your prompt response.

Yes, I was planning to have the wardrobe over there as well.
This morning, I measure the measurement of the wall (where you marked) and found out if I am going to put wardrobe there, the depth of warrobe is only 30cm, otherwise it needs to go over window frame.

Also, how to corner install indoor bifold door, the size of each panel is normal 40cm.
Should I just get 2 tracks of 80cm and install them to make 90degrees angle?

Hi @eegoos,

30cm doesn't really seem like enough depth for a wardrobe, considering a coat hanger is usually around 40cm wide.

Could you move the wardrobe to the top of the room and remove the small wall to the left of the entrance door, then run a wall from the corner near the entrance to the corner of the wardrobe?

This should give you enough room to install the bifold doors on a straight wall.
