Will vegetable plants survive Canberra winter?

Hi bunnings team,

I need your advice my tomato plants were not success heir loom tomatos just started to grow tomatoes but they are not perfect, i want to know is it seasonal or it can survive until next season.

Same as i want go know about capsicum will it survive or it is seasonal.

Can you please tell me should i keep fertilising tomatoes and capsicum?

Can  you please tell me about 

Orange and lemon should  i keep fertilising them and also tell me will they survive in frost or should i take them under cover as i donot have covered area.

Bunnings team i also want to know about petunia and merigold will they survive in canberras weather or they are seasonal.

I want to know does alpine strawberry is seasonal it was worst after a lot of care turn out was burnt eaten strawberries all the season.

Thank you for your questions about your various plants.

Heirloom tomatoes and capsicum can be grown as annuals or perennials, depending on your climate. In frost-prone areas like Canberra, I'd treat them as annuals, meaning they won't survive the winter and would need to be replaced. Next year, continue fertilising with a balanced fertiliser such as Scotts Osmocote All Purpose Controlled Release Fertiliser during the growing season and switch to one higher in phosphorus and potassium, such as Scotts Osmocote Tomato Vegetable And Herb Fertiliser when fruiting.

Keep fertilizing your orange and lemon trees with a citrus-specific fertilizer such as Scotts Osmocote Citrus and Fruit Fertiliser. Protect them from frost by using frost cloth and move them to a covered area. 

Petunias and marigolds are annuals and won't survive Canberra's cold winters. They need to be replanted each year.

Alpine strawberries are perennials but need well-draining soil and protection from extreme weather. Similar to the orange and lemon trees, use frost cloth and move them to a covered area to protect them over the winter.
