What are NSW loft bed regulations?

Hi team, I’m about to start a project building a loft bed for my little one. The intent is to have stairs against the wall up to the bed. The stairs will double as drawers and am planning on them being roughly 300-350mm cubed. Do you know if there are any regulations in nsw that I might need to be aware of before kicking this off? Note, it won’t be structural and will basically just sit against the wall as an end product

In New South Wales, there are important safety guidelines to keep in mind when it comes to loft beds or bunk beds. These generally relate to things like having secure guardrails on all sides of the top bunk, ensuring there's enough height between the mattress base and the top of the rail, and making sure ladders are safe and easy to use. There are also considerations around the size of the mattress and avoiding gaps or sharp edges that could cause injury.

If you are referring to the stairs you'll be building, I'm sure that the regulations for these will be mentioned in your local council's rules as well.  

Regulations can vary depending on local requirements, so it's always a good idea to check with your local NSW council to make sure everything is up to standard.
