How to remove sticky stuff on new yellow tongue flooring?

I received a shipment of yellow tongue flooring and all the sheets have this sticky material on them presumably to stop them from sliding around in the pack during transport. They are going to be used for temporary walls so I need the surface to be perfectly clean so I can paint them. Does anyone know the quickest way to get this stuff off?

Yellow tongue flooring typically comes with a wax coating that helps protect the boards during transport and storage. If you're planning to paint them, you'll need to remove this wax coating, as it prevents paint from adhering properly. Sanding the surface will effectively remove both the wax and the sticky white residue you're seeing. Just be sure to use a medium-grit sandpaper to scuff up the surface enough for the paint to bond.
