How to fix kitchen sink damage?

Hi 

My kitchen has little rust around 3 mm in diameter. I checked and found out that there is little damage to that area but no leakage yet. What should I use to fix the damage before it gets worse and causes leakage?

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community @LucasNg. It's wonderful to have you join us, and many thanks for your question about removing rust spots.

Use some wet and dry sandpaper — around 800 grit — to gently remove as much of the surface rust as possible. Once you’ve done that, you can neutralise any remaining rust by dipping a cotton bud into rust converter and carefully applying it to the area. It’ll likely darken the spot slightly compared to the rest of the sink, but that’s a lot better than letting the rust continue and eventually lead to a leak.

That said, your sink should be stainless steel, so it’s not very common for them to rust unless the surface has been damaged or something else (like a metal particle) has lodged in and started the process. Worth keeping an eye on it.
