Hi everyone, newbie here
I've removed the cover of this wall tap, and removed the screw in the centre. However I've turned the octagon anticlockwise, but can't seem to turn it any further. Would appreciate any suggestions, thanks.

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's sensational to have you join us, and thanks for sharing your question about your taps.
I suggest using a Craftright 250mm Multi Grip Plier to hold onto the plastic insulator and wiggling it until it comes loose. For one reason or another the plastic insulator shrinks and becomes tight as time moves forward. Once you have the insulator removed you should be able to remove the rest of the parts and allow you access to the spindle.
