A deck and red brick surroundings were revamped with grey paint as part of an alfresco makeover that also included new furniture, lighting and bistro blinds.
The project
My original alfresco comprised of red brick, Merbau decking and old wooden seating. Over the years, the Merbau faded and was in constant need of maintenance. The area seemed dull and lacked life.
I chose to tone down the colour and make it more inviting, interesting and a place I’d love to use all year round. I decided to cover the walls, paint the decking and replace the furniture and lighting, adding in some plants, a TV and a cafe blind to keep the dust and cold/hot air out.
Steps
Step 1
Cleaned the walls and decking.
Step 2
Measured and cut the wall panels and affixed with additional adhesive to the brick.
Step 3
Painted the tired Merbau decking.
Step 4
Added the new outdoor mat, furniture and plants and had the cafe blind installed.
Step 5
Added new light fixtures and a TV.
