How to hang a 45kg Boxing Bag - Wall Mounted?

Hey everyone. I’ve recently purchased a second hand 45kg boxing bag off Facebook marketplace. It came with this bracket which I’m wanting to mount on the wall pictured. The bracket has 12mm mounting holes but doesn’t come with fixings. I was thinking 12mm Dyna bolts but have read maybe Anka screws are a better option. Curious to know your thoughts…

It’s outdoors but undercover. Single brick.

Either Dynabolts or AnkaScrews would be suitable, but AnkaScrews are typically better with brick, as the pressure is more distributed through the length of the screw than with a DynaBolt meaning there is a slightly lower chance of blowing out the brick.

Whatever you choose to use, make sure you drive them into the centre of the brick as the closer to the edge of the brick you go, the higher the risk of blowout.

@JacobZ is spot on with his steps and advice. If you know if your bricks have hollow cores, position the brackets holes centre to the solid sections and mid brick (away from the edges) and not in to the course.

@JacobZ has nailed it, I like anchor screws ever since I found them. Must less likely to blow out a brick is the main reason and they really secure the items. Make sure you drill the hole a little deeper and the hole is clean of dust is all 🙂 I didnt and I broke my wrench trying to ticghten up a bolt that had concrete dust in the base of the hole lol

I just thought I'd mention that installing a boxing bag mount will introduce forces that the wall was not originally designed for, and it is important that you are certain that adding a boxing bag mount to your wall will not adversely affect the structure of your home.

The brick looks to be in good shape, but it is always worth consulting a professional, such as an engineer or licensed builder, to ensure it will not create any structural issues.
