I don't think it's faulty, you just need to access and adjust the control screws inline with what @MitchellMc is thinking. These will be most likely at either end. Are there any visible screw adjustments at either end or does the main body cover remove to access these?
From memory the screws on the left hand side control closing speed and pressure. The right hand side controls the opening and stop positions of the arm. In other words how far it allows the door to open and its stop point to prevent it or the door handle from hitting the wall.

It's terrific to have you join us, and many thanks for your question about installing a door opener.Taking a look at your installation, it appears that everything is in order. I note the arm still has quite an angle to it, which would straighten out more at the 100-degree opening. Can you tell whether the pivot in the arm is what's limiting the opening? I am under the impression that the pivot on the arm should not have a max opening angle and should allow the door to open the full 100-degrees.Please let me know if you have any questions.Mitchell
Hi Mitchel, thanks for coming back to me. When the forearm is disconnected from the main arm, the main arm will not extend any further than shown any further than in original photo. It just comes to an abrupt stop. That is with me manually pulling it around. Shall I take it back to Bunnings and get a replacement.

My expectation would be that the forearm would have to pivot and extend at least another 20-30 degrees in order for the door to fully open, @Ernie1. I can't think of any reason why it wouldn't fully rotate, apart from it being faulty, and getting a replacement might be the best course of action.
Let me tag @Nailbag to see if he has any thoughts.

@Nailbag you nailed it! Well done. I adjusted the backcheck screw and that allowed the main arm to rotate further. Attached are the page in instructions which identify the backcheck screw.
