How to install DAR pine along the top of window?

That would work too @softkun123, it's just that it will penetrate into the wall cavity and you'll need to check whether the 10G screw is too big for your brackets. They'd typically take a 8G screw as Eric suggested.

There's not a great deal of difference between the two screws you've linked. One is just a general purpose wood screw and the other is designed specifically for chipboard. They would both work for the job at hand.

1) so I can use 2 dar pines along the same rod? Do I need to join the dar pines using brackets or so? If so which bracket?

2) Also I couldn't find studs on top of windows but towards the top of 2 ends of windows only.

Will the lengthy dar pine solution work in this case? Or else what should I do?

Yes, you can use two lengths of timber butted up against each other @softkun123. Provided that they are both equally secured into the studs, I don't see any reason to join the sections together.

As long as the ends are mounted securely into the timber studs at the end that's the most important part, as it's where you'll be mounting the blinds. For the middle section, you might just have to use plasterboard fixings to secure the timber there, especially at the join.

Assuming they are being used indoors, either of these timbers would work.

The only real difference is that the unprimed timber would need to be primed before painting.

I dont have studs at the 2 adjacent timbers of 1.8m each.

can i use Ramset super wallmate and nylon wall mate for the ends ?

There is stud in between somewhere for one of the timber and more towards right for 2nd timber

In an ideal world, everything would line up with a stud, but where it's not possible, it's perfectly fine to use wall anchors.

I'd suggest using Super Wallmates on the ends where a stud isn't available, but it would be best if at least part of each timber is attached to a stud.

Do you have a photo of where you are looking to attach the timbers? I might be able to provide some guidance about the likely location of the studs if I can see the windows.

Thank you for the additional information. The best solution would be to move the left piece of timber over and have the join sit over the stud in the centre. Studs are usually either 35mm or 45mm wide, so it is not unreasonable to have two pieces of timber attached to the same stud.

In saying this, this would mean drilling new holes all along the timber, which wouldn't look great.

You can use one Wallmate to support the end of the timber on the right and then screw it into the studs that are available. If you use two Wallmates, that close together, you risk fracturing the plasterboard, which will make it unable to hold any weight at all. Just stick with one, it will be fine.

Also for right timber ends will Nylon wallmate work as well? If so do i 2 or just 1 vertically at same point.

Apologies, I misread the caption on your photo. I thought that you had located a stud above the window frame, in which case you could use screws like shown below.

Since there is no stud there, you will have to use Wallmates. You can use Nylon WallMates if you'd like to. They are able to support 24kg. I can't imagine your curtains would be heavier than this.

Use only one Wallmate per location, as they can't be used within 100mm of each other. You can locate the Wallmates 50mm in from each end of the timbers to ensure they are 100mm apart.

Nylon wallmate says for thickness of fixture up to 15mm but timber is 19mm. Will this cause issue?

The Wallmate is not installed in the timber; it is installed in the plasterboard.

Residential plasterboard is either 10 or 13mm, so there is no issue here.

You just need to ensure that the screw is suitably long to go through the timber and into the Wallmate. A 40mm screw, something like these 40mm Plasterboard Screws, would be the way to go.
