How to replace shower head when pipe is curved?

Happy Friday! I’ve ran into a problem with trying to install a new shower head where i’m unable to remove this pipe and also not sure if there are extension pipes that could connect this new shower head into? This pipes way too long and awkwardly shaped, Thank you for your help

Hi @RenoFun,

You would need to replace the curved extension with a straight one. We only want the new extension's threaded section to be exposed proud of the tiles. This ensures your new shower fitting screws down flush on the wall.

There are several lengths of extensions, including 40mm, 50mm, 65mm, 75mm and 100mm. Select the one that when screwed in only the threaded section sticks out from the wall.

Be advised that although you are able to change a shower head, replacing this fitting is on the borderline of whether it requires a plumber, so I would encourage you to enlist their services for the connection. It also requires Plumber's Tape to seal.

thank you for this advice, another question is i think the pipe exposes at the wall standard as a female end?

I can't determine that from your image @RenoFun. However, the outlet on the wall is typically a male threaded fitting. So the extenders are female to screw onto it and then male on their end for your shower head.
